Welcoming Hello Marilu to Rhubarb & Hare

The three match striker pots from Hello Marilu

After the cold, wet and greyness of winter I find myself searching out bursts of colour - be that bright pink hyacinths in a bowl or yellow daffodils in a jug on my kitchen table.

When I spotted these joyful small match striker pots I knew they would be a wonderful addition to the Rhubarb & Hare store.  There is something so cheery in their scalloped edges, their hand painted stripes and the contrasting match stick tops.

Created by Hello Marilu in their South London studio, they design quality handmade goods which bring joy & a lovely freshness with their fun use of colours. Everything is designed, handmade or hand finished by its founder Mary-Ann Aveline.  With sustainability in mind, Mary-Ann only produces small batches of stock to avoid waste with excess unused stock.  These match striker pots have been made from white marble Jesmonite, an eco-friendly safe alternative to resin or plaster, which has a luxe stoneware effect with a subtle sparkle.  Each pot is then tinted to a warm shade of off white before the stripes are hand painted on in water based paint.

The match striker pots are so deliciously gorgeous I'd be tempted to use them as tiny wee posy holders with a line dotted down a table full of snowdrops or miniature daffodils.  Wouldn't that look gorgeous?!  I also think they'd make a lovely gift for any loved one hosting Easter this year.
