Easter Tablescapes To Bring Modern Country Charm to Your Celebration
-
After a rather damp, drizzly, grey start to the year it really does feel like Spring is finally on it’s way as we head into Easter. In our village, pink and white blossom is abounding over hedgerows and garden walls, magnolia trees have burst into bloom, the tulips are springing out of the ground and the sound of birdsong is suddenly a most welcome backing tune to our days. I always find Easter a fun festival in the calendar - it feels less pressured than Christmas which comes with so much fanfare and business that the simple joys of it can sometimes be overshadowed. Whereas Easter feels more relaxed and fun. Anyone can pick up a few twirly twigs and make an Easter tree or add some tete-a-tete daffodils to the table for decoration. Whether you’re hosting an intimate family gathering or a lively brunch, here’s the Rhubarb & Hare guide to creating an Easter tablescape that is a delightful fusion of country living and Easter magic.
Handprinted 100% Cotton Hare Napkins
The fields around us are full of hares at the moment and it's always so magical spotting them out in the wild. These beautiful napkins featuring a moon gazing hare are deliciously soft. Made in Norwich they will immediately bring a country feel to your Easter table.
Handmade in porcelain these ceramic running hares are strung with this lovely, zingy hot pink ribbon, but we also have them with a lime green ribbon, which gives them the perfect look for Spring. I'll be hanging mine from my Easter twig tree but it would look just as lovely, hanging from a cupboard door handle or the door latch of a cottage bedroom all year round. Or to really make a statement on your Easter tablescape tie them around a napkin or cutlery at each place setting.
Artisanal Hand Dipped Beeswax Candles
The gentle flicker of candlelight always marks an occasion. Whether you prefer a formal dinner candle to add height to your table, or a stubbier, rounded candle to sit nestled amidst your floral decorations, we have a beautiful selection from Wax Atelier. Handmade in small batches with the utmost care and attention from their London studio, production is entirely in-house with a focus on sustainability and environmentally low-impact-processes. Most materials are sourced locally and they use natural materials like beeswax or plant wax with natural dyes like madder root for colour.
Handmade Ceramic Scalloped Candle Holder
Bring some country charm to your tablescape with these beautifully rustic handmade ceramic dinner candle holders. With a gorgeous scalloped edge each one is entirely made by hand.
Hand-Blown and Hand Engraved Glassware
The Vintage List's mission is to reproduce some of the wonderful glassware you find in antique markets and salerooms. They have created old designs which are timeless yet perfectly complement other modern homeware. All their glasses are hand blown and hand engraved with the loveliest array of designs but best of all, they're made from fine, lead-free glass and can go in the dishwasher!
Flowers
Floral decorations are a must at any important festive occasion and there is an abundance of beautiful flowers at this time of year which will complete any tablescape. Our Handmade Scalloped Daisy Plant Pot in Sage Green will look perfect on your table filled with some white muscari or delicate tete a tete daffodils. Or if you would rather have a posy picked from the garden, then take a look at our Handmade Pink Bud Vase. Made with spring flowers in mind, it has a slightly wider neck to accommodate flowers with thicker stems like tulips, hyacinths and paper whites.
However you decorate your table this Easter, I do hope it is made complete by the love, laughter and joy of being with loved ones.
Happy Easter my lovelies.
