Introducing Ethel & Co

I discovered Ethel & Co on a warm summer’s evening last year. I was scrolling on Instagram, as I often do to unwind, and suddenly found Corina’s account. With names of her candles like Amalfi Coast and Santorini, you can understand why I was suddenly drawn to make a cheeky purchase.

As with all the makers I choose to work with at Rhubarb & Hare, I love Corina’s ethos. Her mission is simple: to create candles with captivating scents, beautiful eco friendly minimalist apothecary packaging, and to use the finest ingredients available. Ethel & Co use 100% Cocosoy wax derived for an eco-friendly clean, long burn and lead-free cotton wicks. Every one of their candles is wicked, poured, and labelled all by hand, by their in-house team in Nottingham to maintain an impeccably high standard of quality which they pride ourselves on.  

I adore candles and I use them around the house A LOT. I have daytime ones, evening ones, bathtime ones, bedtime ones – all different fragrances to either lift my mood or relax, to calm or revitalise. I adore the scents of Ethel & Co’s candles and always tend to have one in our snug. Of an evening, once the littles have gone to bed, the house is tidied and some sort of order resumed, the candle goes on. It’s a very simple pleasure in my day.
