The Summer Table Edit

The Summer Table at Rhubarb Cottage

With the warmer weather upon us there is nothing lovelier than eating outside, whether it's a casual BBQ with friends, afternoon tea with the family or a candlelit supper for two.

And it only takes a few simple touches to turn your garden table into something special.  With so many of us holidaying at home this year and eating outside more than ever before, it's lovely to think of ways to bring a touch of magic to your outdoors.

As always, you can take this approach as far or as little as you want.  If time is short, how about some lovely tealights and a couple of jam jars filled with flowers on the table?  Or if you want to go all out, what about candlebras filled with bright, summery coloured candles and big vases full of tumbling dahlias and roses?

I always think a tablecloth elevates a garden table into something special.  And what about lighting?  Could you hang some paper lanterns, or a string of bistro lights?  And I am a massive fan of bunting and think any part of your garden is transformed with some lovely bunting.  We currently have some made from white sailcloth hanging over our garden table and its just so joyful, even on a cloudy day.

I've pulled together a selection of  R&H goodies currently in store that'll make you want to linger at the table till the sun goes down.  To view the collection click here
