**Exclusive colour way to Rhubarb & Hare**
When we moved to Hare house, Menna from Cleiog Ceramics kindly gave me one of these new match strikers as a house warming present and before I'd even finished unwrapping it I'd said, 'You HAVE to let me stock these!"
I absolutely adore Menna's work - inspired by French pottery and fabric each piece has a vintage feel but always with her classic style which means they sit perfectly in any setting, modern or country. These handmade match strikers have a gorgeous shape. In particular I love its short, rounded shape with the wide opening at the top which is edged with a thick rim like a vintage cheese mold design. BUT my favourite part is the triple glazing effect to the outside. Three separate glazes give this match striker a heavenly colour way with the Duck Egg bottom layer, pale grey and then a soft white at the top. Just enough of a colour accent to add interest but gentle enough so that it remains neutral to fit most homes.
Each match striker is hand thrown by Menna on her potter's wheel at her home studio just outside Cambridge. Individually made, each one takes 3-4 weeks to make and is a small work of art. The three-glazing process alone takes 3 days as each individual glaze has to dry before the other layer is added.
- Comes with a small bunch of tall white matches
- Approx 7 cm high and with a diameter of 7.5 cm
- Every piece is entirely individual - made and glazed completely by hand so you should expect to embrace its one-of-a-kind organic character
